You can always count on Steven Khalil to bring the WOW. And this year’s exquisite collection, by no stretch of the imagination did it come close to disappointing. His 25-piece collection featured a string of delicate fabrics, intricate beading, tulle-filled skirts and ‘barely there’ mesh bodices. Wine red, midnight navy, soft blush, cornflower blue, bold purple and classic ivory was the dreamy colour palette of his latest collection showcased. Our beautiful friends at Affinity Diamonds gave us this up close and oh-so personal access to the organised chaos backstage. Each and every model were adorned in Affinity Diamonds – rocks so big it was every girls dream! Backstage was everything but crazy. A huge warehouse space with beautiful lighting and white walls was where the models were made into Steven Khalil’s vision. Soft dewy skin, a touch of mascara and a stained, bold lip – perfectly understated, allowing the gowns (and of course the diamonds!) to do all the talking. Thank you again to our beautiful friends at Affinity Diamonds – it truly was a magical experience to be amongst the poetic and dream-like moments before Steven Khalil made his own mark at MBFWA.
