This year saw communities far and near join together to fight the dark end of 2019 and early 2020 with bushfires and thereafter, the wave of pandemic that continues to taint our Australian soil.
COVID-19 almost saw an end to a season for the great NRL game, but through the hundreds of thousands of bodies manning our frontline emergency services, Australia was able to once again enjoy our NRL filled weekends.
It is with great honour that Affinity Diamonds continues to craft both the NRL medals and rings, 5 years and running.
This year’s NRL Premiership ring, is made of White Gold and bedazzled in 2 Carats worth of diamonds. The men’s ring features blue sapphires and women’s ring red rubies, both rings are also dressed in fine detailed artworks that pay tribute to those of the first responders and wildlife.

“The only reason the game is on is because of those first responders,” Affinity Diamonds Director Sam Rahme said.
Driven by our Director, Sam Rahme, we proposed the design concept for this years’ premiership ring to the NRL.
Together with the NRL, Lyndal Keith (an emergency nurse at Northern Beaches Hospital) and Ken Murphy (chief superintendent with NSW Fire and Rescue), contributed to the design of this year’s ring, with help from Canberra artist Mick Ashley.

Mick Ashley perfectly depicted 2020 in his artwork – whereby Ms Keith acknowledges the iconic artwork by noting “The firefighters worked so hard all through summer, and then it was over to us with the pandemic,”.

The NRL is a truly recognised culture within Australia, we believe there was no better way to sign off 2020 than with a small tribute to a greater cause.
On behalf of the team at Affinity Diamonds, we wish both finalist teams all the best for their Grand Final match this Sunday.
